The first-ever Young People to the Front (YP2F) Youth Homelessness Research Conference brought together a powerful mix of researchers, advocates, service providers, and young people to tackle one of Los Angeles’ most urgent and under-researched issues: youth homelessness. The event focused on bridging the gap between data, lived experience, and practical solutions to better support unhoused youth across the city.

We’re thrilled to share highlights from the International Conference on Youth Homelessness, which one of our postdocs, Benjamin Parry, recently attended! This marks the first event of its kind as researchers, practitioners, and policymakers worldwide gathered to discuss the future of youth homelessness prevention.

On Thursday February 27th, 2025, Professor Coco Auerswald & Assistant Researcher Sahra Nawabi visited the House of Senate in Washington D.C. to meet with the policy advisors and legislative aids of Senator Alex Padilla and Senator Adam Schiff. Here are the highlights: 

Dr. Coco Auerswald will be a participating member on the Youth and Young Adult Working Group for the California Interagency Council on Homelessness (Cal ICH). 

YAAH is eager to announce that Benjamin Parry and Laura Petry have joined will be joining our team as postdoctoral scholars. 

On March 11th, 2024 we formally introduced the Guidelines to Prevent, Address, and End Youth Homelessness. You can find a link to the recording of this presentation here

YAAH is excited to announce that Maddy Cuyler will be the Project Coordinator for our Cal-ICH project as of, August 16. She brings thoughtfulness, humility, passion, strong MPH skills, and a commitment to ending homelessness to this position.
