Youth and Allies Against Homelessness is proud to announce that one of our YAAH Lab's undergraduate researchers, Kate Chung, has been selected as an Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship (URAP) Summer Fellow for her ongoing research on “Population Size Estimation of Youth Experiencing Homelessness.” The URAP Summer Fellowship supports undergraduate students and allows them to continue impactful research projects over the summer. In the lab, Kate uses capture-recapture methods to link administrative data from service providers. The end goal of this research is to improve population size estimates of unhoused youth in six target pilot communities, including Alameda County, across the state of California.
